Craig Pedersen has been involved in the Security and Law Enforcement fields for nearly 20 years.
His experience includes:
Honourably discharged from the SADF after completing his national service at 31 Battalion and being awarded the Service Medal for services rendered at 31 Battalion.
Close Protection operations & team management while owning and managing the Risk Analysis Group (1994-1998).
During this time, operations included travelling to Atlanta, Georgia for the 1996 Olympic Security Team Program, heading CP details for the 2004 Olympic Bid Company and providing executive and close protection details for a number of local and international businessmen. Craig wrote and published one of the first South African books on the subject of Close Protection in 1998 (ISBN 9780620 409933).
From 1994-1996 Craig was actively involved with the Close Quarter Protection Association SA as secretary, founding and general member.
SAPS Reserve since 1991, functioned in a variety of roles including under cover assignments, visible policing, narcotics team (1993), warrant service team, and training delivery for new reserve intakes (2004-2008) as a senior instructor.
In 2009, he jointly recieved the 2nd Place in the Reservist of the Year Prestige Awards. Craig holds a number of commendations for participation in various intelligence driven operations, service to particular stations and general service in the SAPS.
During 2004-2006 Craig chaired the Milnerton Community Police Forum bringing togather community and SAPS to gain a better understanding of each others needs and providing oversight.
As a trainer, he has successfully trained in a variety of subject ranges from Close Protection to Self Defence and Unarmed Combat to security awareness training for commercial enterprises, drug awareness and general security training.
Craig has provided the project management for the Milnerton Crime Watch Trust (www.crime-watch.co.za) project since 2002. This project is notably one of the most successful South African community led crime prevention initiatives, achieving a reduction in crime of 60% since inception. Craig has assisted with the forumlation and building of a number of similar projects in the Western Cape.
In 2005, he completed a Diploma in Life Skills Coaching as an addon to his training skills. He has used this coaching background to develop innovative and motivating training programs.
He has been featured over the years in a variety of media including radio interviews, been featured on Carte Blanche and been the subject of articles in the Cape Argus, the Star, the Natal Herald, Cape Times and Sunday Times.
Craig has participated in a variety of security operations domestically and on the African Continent. He has participated in training both locally and abroad.
During his career, Craig has started and successfully built a number of businesses in which he still maintains an interest.
Craig was a member of Rotary (district 9350) and has been actively involved with a number of community and social responsibility projects.
Craig Pedersen is a registered member of the American Society of Industrial Security (www.asisonline.org) and is registered with the Private Security Regulatory Authority.
